Yesterday I came across an instagram post from Gary V. that really hit me hard. Regardless of your personal beliefs of Gary, please watch this before you continue reading or click off.
Before I began my journey to better myself there was one common theme in my life that I lived with, and that was the feeling of regret. It’s hard for me to look back and not feel regret about a lot of my misspent childhood. This was something very hard for me to deal with and it caused me a lot of depression and self loathing, but it was also the catalyst for everlasting change within my life last year.
Regret brought me to my lowest mental point I have ever hit which has caused me to completely shift my life to focus around preventing future regret from my life.
Now I want to share this with you today because I don’t want you to go another 10 years filled with regret for not getting your health in order. If you have a child I am sure you want to be there when they graduate, get married, and fulfill their life long dreams. But in order for you to do that you have to be ALIVE & HEALTHY! If you’re in your 20’s like me or maybe your teens you don’t want to go into your 30’s with the same job, same attitude, and a new beer belly. Or maybe you’re in your 40’s-50’s and believe your fate is already sealed up but I promise you that is nowhere near the truth, please give this video a quick look.
If you want to go out there and chase dreams you need ENERGY, and to get energy you need to be HEALTHY. 20 years down the line is it really going to be worth it eating that fatty burger and fries with a sugar overload in your soda for lunch every day because it’s convenient? Even if it means gaining 100+ pounds, gaining a huge reliance on the food, and flushing $8 down the drain everyday? In 5 years are you going to feel benefits from watching 3+ hours of Netflix everyday or are you going to feel the benefits from spending that time with 1 hour of exercise and 2+ hour of working on a future goal or business?
Regret is a terrible, terrible feeling that haunts me vividly, so much so I can almost get myself to feel exactly how I felt during my “rock bottom” just as I did on that day. Regret of past actions is a feeling that can be very hard if not impossible to get rid of, and that is what I want you to keep in mind. You can either keep building up regrets, or you can start doing the task’s you know you should be doing to better yourself and erase 99% of your future regrets and begin to feel and do better.
